Join us for a wildflower identification walk around Longrun Meadow, taking in the highlights with ‘botanical recorders’ Simon Leach and Steve Parker.
We will take a slow amble around the meadow, keeping a list of what we see, using field guides and ID keys, maybe taking photos of our finds, enabling us to distinguish between each species we find and its lookalikes!

Join the Friends of Longrun Meadow on Thursday the 29th of September for two Great Big Green Week Events.
10am – Meet the volunteers for a guided walk around the meadow to find out about the wildlife that makes the meadow its home, the ecosystem services provided by the meadow, and how the area is managed for the benefit of wildlife and people.
11am – We will be joined by the Taunton Area Cycling Campaign for a cycle along the route through the meadow that joins Silk Mills Park and Ride with the town centre and other destinations.
- Both events will meet at the Oak Barn (w3w:clean.horses.career)
- Both events will be cancelled if the weather is terrible

As part of a larger, collaborative project called Hedges and Edges, Longrun Meadow aims to create 150m of new hedge this autumn and winter and create a similar length of ecotones (a graded rise of vegetation from grass through to mature trees) around the planted trees.
